This week we celebrated Tongan Language Week.
The theme for this year is: Fakakoloa 'o Aotearoa 'aki 'a e Tauhi Fonua -which means: A Tongan Perspective of Enriching Aotearoa, New Zealand.
The Student Councillors had been learning a traditional Tongan dance known as the ma'ulu'ulu –(mah-oo-loo-oo-loo). It’s a sitting dance and the movements are mostly shown through the hands as well as the tilt of the head known as the teki (tek-key).
